MoreStore this weekend was fortunate to have the opportunity to sponsor an annual swimming gala for young swimmers from across the region.
The event, called the Rob Welbourn Meet, took place at Deepings Leisure Centre in Deeping St James. Organised by the Deepings Swimming Club, the meet is named after the club’s own Rob Welbourn – a gold medal-winning swimmer from the area who took part in the 2004, 2008 and London 2012 Paralympic Games.
MoreStore was offered the chance to become one of the sponsors that makes the event possible for around 180 budding swimmers from clubs throughout Lincolnshire – an offer it was proud to accept. With groups for 9-10 year olds, 11-12 year olds, 13-14 year olds, and those aged 15 and over, the gala gave young people a chance to achieve officially recognised county and Midlands qualifying times.
MoreStore director Dan Hiblin said of the event, “We’re a community minded company, so we do talk to our partners about events and causes that we believe could benefit the district. The majority of our self-storage customers at MoreStore are based in the local area and we believe that a rising tide lifts all boats, so we’re always pleased to see businesses and communities in South Kesteven thriving.”
This event follows hot on the heels of the announcement that MoreStore would also be an official sponsor for the Deeping Rangers Claret Under 8 football team this season as well.
