MoreStore Self Storage recently had the opportunity to sponsor the Deepings Community Library with funds towards new crafting tables. These were to replace old tables which were losing their reliability due to years of wear and tear.
The Deepings Community library is a local charity open five days a week and managed by a committee of the Friends of Deeping Library. The library offers books, audio books, computers, printing and more to local Deeping residents – attracting roughly 3,000 visitors per month.
Here’s what Deepings Library Manager, Tui Girdlestone, had to say about the impact the new tables have had: “The new tables are proving a valuable asset for all of our arts and crafts sessions, as well as being used during adult events such as Scrabble club. Our old tables were getting old and unsteady, so we’re very grateful for the kind donation that has allowed us to purchase these. We’re a busy library with lots going on so the tables will be put to good use over the coming years. Thank you!”.
During our visit, Tui kindly gave us a tour of the listed building. This included a walk through the adults, teens, and kids zones of the library, plus a look at the computer and printing suite in the centre of the building. Tui explained that the team is made up predominantly of volunteers (approximately 80!).
Dan Hiblin, MoreStore’s owner, said about the sponsorship: “We were very, very pleased to be able to provide the funds for new crafting tables at Deepings Community Library. It’s fantastic to see the crafting sessions are nurturing the children’s creativity. The library has something for everyone, and it really feels like the heart of the community”.
The library hosts a variety of wonderful events and seasonal celebrations for little ones, including Star Wars Family Fun Day, Mother’s Day crafts, Halloween, and more. There’s also plenty for the grownups to enjoy with talks from local wildlife photographers and local business including Jackalope Joe Coffee Co. and Bowlers Brewery.
